The last step of the major renovation project also ended with the opening on the ground floor of the accessories area and the Temakinho restaurant with outdoor seating. After a year and a half of work, the legendary store Rinascente in Via Lagrange, under Central Retail, has now opened with three floors more dedicated to fashion, beauty and design, and its retail offer has been enriched with over 1,000 new top Italian and international brands. A refined and contemporary building has been created and, like all the stores in the Rinascente Collection, one that bears the signature of important names in architecture and design. They include Gianmatteo Romegialli, who shaped the project and is responsible for the store façade and ground floor; the 1st and 2nd floors were designed by Paolo Lucchetta, the 3rd and -1 floors by Fabio Fantolino, and the 4th floor by David Lopez & Fanny Bauer.
So Turin now has a totally new Rinascente. Bigger and better, it is perfect for a progressive public and a city whose stylistic hallmark has always been elegance and distinction. The new location is in line with the architectural and cultural excellence of the local area, it adds value to the pedestrian area of Via Lagrange, and helps to elevate the prestige of a place adored by the people of Turin and tourists alike. A project that offers tangible solutions to new demands, and that once again confirms Rinascente’s mission statement that has always been “FOR THE CITY, WITH THE CITY, IN THE CITY”.
The new accessories area is simply perfect for finding all the elements that give a look character. This is where you can explore the new collections by luxury brands like ALEXANDER MCQUEEN, BOTTEGA VENETA, BURBERRY and MARNI, and their total look concept that includes bags, shoes and clothing. There is also a multibrand area dedicated to one of the cult accessories: the bag. With the most popular fashion brands like ATP, AVENUE 67, CHASER, KARA, KENZO, MARGE, SHARK, SHERWOOD, SONIA RYCKIEL, STAND, legendary brands like COCCINELLE, GIANNI CHIARINI, THE BRIDGE, and such great classics in leatherwear as KATE SPADE, that stand out for their feminine, fun mood and are absolutely new to Rinascente. Not to mention LONGCHAMP, MICHAEL KORS, ORCIANI and ZANELLATO.
Bags are joined by belts and gloves from ARISTIDE and MAISON BOINET, and textile accessories, the stars of the winter season. There is also space for jewellery from ATELIER VM with its distinctive “welded love” bracelet, ALIITA, ATHENS, DANIELA DE MARCHI, FEDERICA TOSI, HERMINIA, ISABEL MARANT, REBECCA, WALD BERLIN, 5 OCTOBRE and many more. Naturally, the space had to include eyewear with such cult brands as CHANEL, GUCCI and indispensable RAYBAN.
The decor on the ground floor was designed to be totally in harmony with the new external portico and the architecture of the new façade on Via Lagrange. Travertine marble is again the main feature of the floors and some of the claddings, such as the escalator risers, that are repeated on all floors, and the 4 internal pillars; defining the central retail space, they are attached to the ceiling with a double arch, architectural devices that characterise the entire ground floor. The details are also key elements that add character to the entire space. They include the large chandelier with indirect light surrounding the escalator hub, and a vertical screen that separates the food area from the retail area. Like the external doors and windows, both are made in painted aluminium to increase the feeling of consistency and continuity.
The furnishings are simple in design and colours are neutral so that they don’t distract from the marked identity of the individual brands.
The international allure of Turin Rinascente is also expressed in the Japanese-Brazilian fusion specialities by Temakinho, the restaurant chain that was inaugurated in 2012 and immediately made its love of cuisine and eco sustainability a distinctive characteristic. So much so that in 2016 it was the first one in the world to achieve the Friend of the Sea certificate for its use of sustainable fish.
Temakinho is already in the Roma Tritone flagship store and its image at the new store in Turin is consistent with the brand while also being in tune with the architectural context.
The restaurant is located on the -1 floor and ground floor, where it also has a pleasant outdoor seating area. The design pays homage to the Amazon rainforest and the marvellous creatures that live there, with objects and details made entirely by hand.
The menu includes breakfast and brunch based on international cuisine with a Brazilian flavour. In addition to classic coffee, it serves shakes, smoothies, different types of avocado toast, gourmet croissants, pancakes and waffles. For lunch and dinner you can enjoy petiscos, small dishes based on fish to be shared as an appetiser, rolls, temaki, different types of tartare, ceviche and the original organic picanha steak. If you have a sweet tooth, there are the unmissable tropical mochi as well as the famous cakes, like cheesecake and Bolo Prestigio, a typical Brazilian cake made of chocolate and coconut. At Temakinho Rinascente offers the inhabitants of Turin an exotic and surprising alternative, where they can have new experiences in matters of taste.
To celebrate this reopening in style, Rinascente has organised four days of events and initiatives with the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11.30 am on Friday 4 October by Central Group and Rinascente top management team including Mr. Sudhitham Chirathivat, Chairman of the Advisory Board of Central Group, Mr. Tos Chirathivat, CEO of Central Retail Corporation Limited, Mr. Nicolo Galante, COO of Central Retail Corporation Limited, Mr. Pierluigi Cocchini, CEO of Rinascente, Mr. Vittorio Radice, Vice Chairman of Rinascente. Rinascente has also set up activities for employees and customers with entertainment and shopping initiatives, as well as two exclusive gala events. To mark the occasion, the new store front will overlook the RINASCENTE CRYSTAL GALLERY, a 400-square-metre tensile structure on Via Teofilo Rossi, which will host themed activities from Thursday 3 to Sunday 6 October. To put the finishing touches to this new store, Rinascente has planned special window displays created by artist Francesca Romana Di Nunzio. Six statues, each one representing a personality that symbolises the store. Made in pre-coloured and coated silicone rubber, the statues range are based on copies of the real personalities who inspired them. All visitors can match a face to the ideas, passion and work that lie behind the new Rinascente in Turin.
