Bangkok – 3 December 2021, Central Group and two of its affiliates received Organization that Empowers Persons with Disabilities Awards 2021 from the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, on the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The awards reaffirm Central Group’s commitment in promoting equality for those with disabilities through job opportunities and better quality of life to drive Thai society sustainably.
On this occasion, Thiradej Chirathivat, Executive Director of Central Group, Karitta Rattanasumrit, Human Resources Director, Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort and Villa Hua Hin, and Piyawan Leelasompop, Executive Vice President, Marketing of Central Retail Corporation Public Company Limited, represented the companies in receiving the awards from Juti Krairiksh, Minister of Social Development and Human Security.
- Central Group was awarded an Organization that Empowers Persons with Disabilities Award in Excellent Category for the 6th consecutive year.
- Central Hua Hin Beach Resort Limited (Centara Grand Beach Resort and Villa Hua Hin) was awarded an Organization that Empowers Persons with Disabilities Award in Excellent Category for the 7th consecutive year.
- Central Retail Corporation Public Company Limited was awarded an Organization that Empowers Persons with Disabilities Award in Outstanding Category for the 2nd consecutive year.
Organization that Empowers Persons with Disabilities Awards are given to organizations that are outstanding in empowering persons with disabilities. Central Group has been empowering persons with disabilities for 14 years since 2007 through various projects to support their education, employment, and quality of life, such as Employing Persons with Mental Disabilities Project with the Foundation for the Welfare of the Mentally Retarded of Thailand, Farming Area Support Project with Pattaya Redemptorist School for the Blind, and Customer Service Center Project of Thai Watsadu and PowerBuy which employes more than 50 employees with disabilities. Central Group currently employs 670 persons with disabilities which is higher than the legally mandated ratio.

They are supported to have a better quality of life through equal opportunities which help reducing the gap in the society for sustainable growth.
